Flexible double containment piping system with zipper

The outer flexible twin pipe system is characterised by a PVC EVA or ETFE,FEP jacket over the main pipe, which provides a high degree of system safety. Possible leaks in the main pipe can be detected by a leak detection system installed in the existing annulus. The outer flexible casing is used to restrict the existing leakage of gaseous and liquid flow media from entering the external environment. For the leak monitoring of the outer flexible twin pipe system it was decided to use a fibre optic leak monitoring system. The pressure drop indicates the presence of a leak. Unlike hard twin systems, which can only be installed on new pipework, external flexible twin systems can be installed on both old and new pipework at any time, are simple to install and cheap to build, and leaks can usually be detected by the naked eye.
